The Immokalee Foundation announces a charitable gift of $50,000 from the Suncoast Credit Union Foundation. The funds will be used to support the Foundation’s nationally recognized Career Pathways program that prepares middle and high school students for well-paying, in-demand professional careers in Business Management & Entrepreneurship, Education & Human Services, Engineering & Construction Management and Healthcare.
The gift also provides postsecondary scholarship support to Foundation students who complete the required Career Pathways out-of-school curriculum.
“The Immokalee Foundation and Suncoast Credit Union understand that our region’s economic future depends on developing a pipeline of skilled professionals in key industries,” said Noemi Y. Perez, President and CEO of The Immokalee Foundation. “We continue to be so grateful to Suncoast for recognizing our ability to impact Southwest Florida’s professional future as seen in their many years of impassioned support for our mission.”
Suncoast Credit Union, Florida’s largest credit union, founded the Suncoast Credit Union Foundation to promote the education, health and emotional well-being of children in the community. Each time a Suncoast member uses their debit or credit card, the credit union donates four cents to the Foundation to fund local initiatives. Since its inception in 1990, the Foundation has raised and donated over $55 million.
“The importance of giving children help with finding their future path is important for all of us,” says Jeff Kunberger, Executive Director of Suncoast Foundations. “Education is in our DNA and supporting future leaders with this important programming improves the lives of many beyond the students themselves. Well-educated communities thrive and prosper, which benefits us all,” he added.
