Sprint to the Finish

Posted

Our Daily Bread Food Pantry (ODBFP) is pleased to announce it has received a most generous $750,000 challenge grant to complete its $8 million capital campaign. ODB Food Pantry is sprinting to the finish line! ODB Food Pantry has raised more than $7.5 million which funded the purchase of the property (1818 San Marco Road) along with the lot next door (1824 San Marco Road), the necessary renovations, and the equipment needed to transform the building into a fully functional food pantry which is nearly complete with planned opening this summer.

Food insecurity is a critical issue facing our community. Unfortunately, even on Marco Island and the surrounding communities, thousands of children, seniors, and hard-working families need help to provide food—well-balanced and healthy food to survive. ODBFP currently serves over 1,200 families each week through its mobile food pantries, Care and Share program for the elderly, Saturday drive-through distribution, and weekend food backpacks for students. The new, larger facility will enable the pantry to expand its services and better meet the needs of the community.

A gift to the Sprint to the Finish appeal helps create a brighter future for those in need. The impact and recognition of gifts will be doubled.

“Every contribution to Our Daily Bread Food Pantry is not just a gift of food--it is an investment in dignity, hope, and the future of our community. By supporting this today, you help nourish not only the bodies but the very spirit of those in need. You will make a difference. Thank you,” states Allyson Richards, Board Chair and Campaign Chair.
