Sand Dollar berm in early September, narrowing to about 10 feet wide of level sand. As of Saturday, September 27, the berm has narrowed even further.
New signage at the entrance to Residents' Beach - Marco Island Civic Association Club.
The Marco Island Civic Association (MICA) has installed a new sign at the entrance to the Residents Beach property. According to Ruth McCann, Executive Director, the new sign is to reflect the natural surroundings, and the sign was made brighter and more prominent. Wording was updated to reflect that the beautiful property is a CLUB and requires membership. Ron McClay, President of MICA Club, added, “We are blessed to have this beautiful beach and team running it! Thanks to all our staff and Board members for working so hard to make this the most beautiful beach on the Island.”
In early September, the southern portion of the Sand Dollar berm has narrowed to about 10 feet of level sand, and on a visit last Saturday, the berm has narrowed even further with a 3-4’ escarpment even without a September tropical storm.
