The Rotary Club of Marco Island Noontime is excited to welcome its newest members, Bonnie Knab and Leslie Tetterton!
Bonnie Knab
Bonnie Knab hails from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Growing up, she developed a love for the outdoors, camping, and sports. The family spent three wonderful weeks on the Jersey Shore every year. She competed as a swimmer and gymnast and got her Scuba Certification in High School. Bonnie graduated from the University of Pennsylvania. Following that, she served 44 years as a surgical nurse in cardiac surgery RN, BSN, and CNOR, and for 12 years as a licensed massage therapist, LMT. Bonnie has always had a heart for caring for people, which she carries out faithfully both in her careers and her everyday life. She was active in “Walk to Emmaus “for many years, Habitat for Humanity, has sponsored numerous foreign exchange students in her home, volunteers for the Bargain Basket, and sings in the United Church Choir as well as playing in the Bell Choir.
Bonnie and husband, John, have three grown children and nine precious grandchildren. Military service runs strong in her family and both she and her John are pilots. They also love water sports, kayaking, and canoeing and they are avid scuba divers, loving the peace and beauty of the ocean.
“I love everything that Rotary does and am excited to be a part of it,” said Bonnie. In fact, she is already volunteering for everything and making wonderful contributions to the betterment of the community.
Leslie Tetterton
“I come from the great state of Kentucky, a place that shaped my character and instilled in me a strong sense of hard work, community, and service—values that align closely with Rotary’s mission,” said Leslie Tetterton. After attending Kentucky Christian College, Leslie felt a calling to serve her country, which led her to join the United States Navy. During her time in the Navy, she served in both Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Iraqi Freedom. Those experiences allowed her to contribute to something greater than herself, teaching invaluable lessons in resilience, adaptability, and teamwork. Life in the Navy is challenging, requiring sacrifices and a constant ability to adapt, but it also brings a deep sense of camaraderie and trust with those one serves alongside. Those bonds and the profound lessons continue to guide Leslie in every aspect of her life. One of the most important lessons she took from her service was the power of perseverance. Whether navigating the complexities of operations or enduring the hardships of deployment, she learned that true strength comes from mental toughness and an unwavering focus on the mission. These lessons have shaped how she approaches life, work, and service to the community.
After completing her military service, Leslie transitioned to a career in real estate, eventually finding her passion as a licensed Title Agent. This work has been incredibly fulfilling because it allows her to help people navigate one of the most important milestones in their lives - buying or selling a home. Being part of this process and contributing to their dreams is something she deeply cherishes.
Leslie is the proud mother of three amazing adult children. Watching them grow, learn, and carve out their own paths has been one of the greatest joys of her life.
Leslie states, “Becoming part of the Rotary Club is deeply meaningful to me because it allows me to channel my passion for service into impactful work on a local and global scale. I am inspired by Rotary’s commitment to ‘Service Above Self’ and the incredible work this organization does to make a difference. I am truly honored to become a part of this esteemed organization that embodies service, community, and integrity.”
The Rotary Club of Marco Island Noontime is excited about the many contributions Bonnie Leslie will make to achieving our mission to serve mankind. Welcome to our Rotary Family!
