Pioneer Gardens on Marco Island

The Calusa Garden Club of Marco Island is pleased to announce that Rebecca Mazeroski, the Museum Manager of the Marco Island Historical Museum, will give a presentation about the Island’s pioneer gardens. The public is invited to attend on Monday, March 10, 2025, at 1:00 PM in Rose Hall at the Marco Island Public Library.

Mazeroski formerly worked at the Ah-Tah-Thi-Ki Museum for the Seminole Tribe of Florida. She joined the Collier County Museum system in April 2020. Her talk will include a slideshow of photos, journal entries, and other records from the 1870s to 1950s. Some of the highlights include the crops the early settlers grew to feed themselves and earn a living, the influence of the climate including hurricanes, and the legacy of pioneer gardening.
