As the Marco Island Noontime Rotary Club celebrates 60 years of service above self, and Our Daily Bread Food Pantry marks 10 years of nourishing neighbors in need, their partnership stands as a powerful example of how a community can come together to ensure no family faces hunger alone.
For the past decade, the generosity and leadership of the Noontime Rotary have helped Our Daily Bread Food Pantry grow from a small community effort into a vital lifeline for working families, seniors, and children across the region. Rotary’s support has sustained the pantry through challenging times while allowing it to expand its reach as community needs continue to rise.
One of the most significant areas of growth has been the pantry’s K–12 student nutrition programs. Since the 2023–2024 school year, Our Daily Bread Food Pantry’s children’s nutrition initiatives have grown 53 percent. Today, the pantry provides nourishing breakfasts, after-school snacks, and weekend meal bags to nearly 900 students on Marco Island and in East Naples.
At the same time demand has increased, the pantry has faced new challenges in its food supply chain. Food donations from partner organizations have declined significantly, requiring the pantry to purchase far more food than in previous years to maintain services.
The Noontime Rotary’s continued support has been instrumental in helping bridge this gap, ensuring that families continue to receive nutritious food despite these reductions in regional supply.
The impact of the Rotary’s investment can be seen throughout the community. Each week, more than 1,300 households receive food assistance, while over 850 children benefit from nutritious meals and snacks that support their health and learning. For many families facing rising costs and financial strain, the pantry provides both relief and stability.
“As Our Daily Bread Food Pantry celebrates ten years of serving our community, we are deeply grateful for the partnership of the Noontime Rotary,” said Evelyn Rossetti-Ryan, Executive Director of Our Daily Bread Food Pantry. “Their commitment to service has helped ensure that thousands of families, children, and seniors have access to nutritious food and the support they need during difficult times.”
As the Noontime Rotary celebrates six decades of service, and Our Daily Bread Food Pantry reflects on ten years of fighting hunger locally, both organizations demonstrate what is possible when a community comes together to care for its neighbors. For the thousands of students, working families, and seniors who rely on the pantry each week, this partnership represents more than food on the table — it represents compassion, stability, and hope for a stronger and healthier community.
