MDR Launches First Memory Café September 15

MDR Your Brain Health Matters, your source for brain health information in Southwest Florida, will host its first monthly Memory Café on Tuesday, September 15, 2026, from 1:30 PM to 3:00 PM at the MDR Champagne Center for Brain Health, 40 S. Heathwood Drive, Building B, second floor, Suite F. The no-cost program is designed for individuals experiencing Mild Cognitive Impairment (MCI) or changes in their brain health along with their care partners.

What Is a Memory Café?

Part of a growing nationwide movement, a Memory Café is a welcoming social program that provides an opportunity for people experiencing memory loss or cognitive change along with their care partners to connect with others in a relaxed, supportive setting.

The MDR Memory Café will focus on conversation, music, creative activities and shared experiences, with an emphasis on social engagement, connection and community.

“Our move to providing a Memory Café to the community reflects MDR’s commitment to expanding our brain health programming and supporting both participants and caregivers,” said Stephanie Bean, Operations Director for MDR Your Brain Health Matters.

Beginning Tuesday, September 15, 2026, the Memory Café will supplement MDR’s regular respite care programming offered on Mondays and Wednesdays.

“We will provide a relaxed setting where we’ll welcome new folks to enjoy conversation, music, fun and creative activities centered on social engagement that helps reduce isolation and strengthens relationships,” Bean said. Initially, MDR plans to offer the Memory Café monthly on the third Tuesday of each month.

Registration is required because capacity is limited and organizers want to ensure a comfortable and supportive experience for all attendees. To register, contact MDR Your Brain Health Matters at 239-388-4134. The deadline to register is Friday, September 11, 2026.

MDR Your Brain Health Matters provides innovative programs, caregiver support, and memory-health resources that enhance the quality of life for individuals and families navigating cognitive changes. Through education, engagement, and community partnerships, MDR continues to expand its programming and services as your source for brain health information across Southwest Florida.
