Marco Sportfishing Club Shines at Christmas Parade

Posted

On a picturesque Saturday evening in Marco Island, the Marco Sportfishing Club joined the annual "Christmas Island Style Street Parade" with the goal of reclaiming their first-place title.

The festivities began bright and early at Walker's Marine's used boat lot, where a dedicated team of decorators (Jay and Linda Hall, Jay Jones, Randy Regan, Dave Schott, Jay and Ricki Terzis, and Keith Wohltman) transformed a boat provided by Walker's Marine into a festive masterpiece.

As darkness fell, the parade participants gathered at the staging area off San Marco Road, eagerly anticipating the procession. Walkers were stocked with candy to distribute to the enthusiastic crowd lining the parade route.

The festive boat was manned by Anna Hutchings, Anne Marchetti, Carol Schwalje, and Keith Wohltman, who refilled the walkers candy supplies throughout the parade.

The club extends its gratitude to John Marchetti for the use of his generator; Allan Bristow, Jay Jones, and Keith Wohltman for transporting participants; and Kellie Nidweski and Walker's Marine for the boat and towing services.

While the first-place trophy eluded the club this year, the parade was undoubtedly a success, providing enjoyment for both participants and spectators. The festivities continued after the parade, with 22 members gathering at Margaritas for a celebratory gathering.
