Marco Island Noontime Rotary welcomes new member Dr. Scott Nicklas, new Executive Director and Principal of the Marco Island Charter Middle School.
“I have been eager to join a community-minded foundation to build ties with like-minded people and provide a connection to our school and the community. I am impressed with the Rotary ideal of ‘Service Above Self,’ putting young people first and investing in the future of our community,” said Nicklas.
With 22 years in education, Nicklas has been a Mason for 19 years and has worked with the American Cancer Society and the Alzheimer’s Foundation. Nicklas lives with his family in Punta Gorda.
On Marco Island, the Charter School functions as both a school and a community institution, educating local children while introducing them to civic responsibility, volunteerism, and leadership at an important stage in their development. It serves students from both Marco Island and the surrounding Naples area.
Rotary is a global network of over 1.4 million business, professional, and community leaders united by the ideal of “Service Above Self.” Through weekly meetings and a network of over 46,000 clubs in more than 200 countries, members work together to provide humanitarian service to their communities and the world, encourage high ethical standards, and promote goodwill and peace worldwide.
