Marco Rotary Noontime Welcomes Newest Member

Rotary Club of Marco Island - Noontime welcomed its newest member, Brittany Richards.

Brittany's family moved to Florida when she was a young girl. She has been working since age 13 and writing stories as soon as she learned how to spell!

More recently, she moved to Marco to get married, and in 2023, attended the Leadership Marco program. Then, during Media Week, she met Val Simon, publisher of the Coastal Breeze, and began her professional writing career.

"Knowing that writing is my true passion, I thoroughly enjoy capturing our island's happenings,” said Brittany. “Similar to my love for the Leadership Marco program, the "in's and out's" of the many fundraisers, celebrations, ribbon cuttings, small business spotlight - whatever the subject is, I cover it! Giving a voice to each organization's event, business mission, or a human interest piece fills me with purpose."

Brittany recently attended a Noontime Rotary event for a story and heard Rotary’s motto, ‘Service Above Self’ for the first time, and she realized that this was the living embodiment of that motto! "This inspired me to become a Rotarian, and I look forward to serving to the best of my ability and help make a difference for our community,” said Brittany.
