Marco Noontime Rotary Celebrates December Students of the Month

Marco noontime Rotarians arriving at their Thursday meeting were greeted by the sounds of Christmas music - band, chorus and bell ringers - all provided by students of Marco Island Charter Middle School.

Also featured and speaking at the meeting were the “Students of the Month” from various grade levels from five local-area schools. Schools represented were Lely High School, Marco Island Academy, Manatee Middle School, Marco Island Charter Middle School, and Tommie Barfield Elementary School.

According to George Abounader, Rotary Board member and chairman of the Student of the Month Committee, “We are very pleased and proud to present these young students who all exhibit impressive leadership and scholastic achievement.” All Rotary members present were very impressed with the students’ remarks, their scholastic and athletic achievements, and their ambitions for the future.
