The Marco Island Historical Society (MIHS) has launched an all-new interactive website at themihs.org. The project was made possible with the support of a Collier Community Foundation grant.
The website design team included Exploratech, a Naples-based web design agency, Sherri Morrison Creative Design, and MIHS professional staff led by MIHS Curator of Collections Heather Otis. The new website is user-friendly and smartphone and tablet compatible. It significantly expands access to the vast repository of over 21,000 images and records of Marco Island and surrounding areas that are in MIHS collections.
“This engaging and informative website is going to better serve the community, our members, students, visitors, and scholars from around the world,” notes MIHS CEO Pat Rutledge. “We are thankful to the Collier Community Foundation for their support of this major undertaking. MIHS is thrilled to expand on the many ways we present and share the award-winning Marco Island Historical Museum and Marco Island Historical Society collections and the many stories they tell about beautiful and fascinating Marco Island.”
