The Marco Island Beautification Advisory Committee proudly announces the kickoff of the 24th annual Marco In Bloom Landscape Competition—the island’s most anticipated contest, spotlighting the most stunning, creative, and eco-friendly properties on Marco Island!

Marco In Bloom goes beyond competition—it’s an invitation for every resident to help create and celebrate the lush, welcoming landscapes that make our island paradise so special. Community members are encouraged to discover creative planting and beautification practices that thrive in South Florida’s unique climate by always matching the right plant with the right place.

This year, the contest is bigger and brighter than ever—celebrating all the spaces that make Marco Island truly bloom. Categories for entry include:

  • Residential Homes – Professionally Designed Landscape
  • Residential Homes – Personally Designed Landscape
  • Residential Homes – with a Florida-Friendly Emphasis
  • Cul-de-sacs
  • Condominiums
  • Commercial and Public Buildings

The criteria to select this year’s winners are:

  • Creativity & Design – Innovative and artistic landscaping.
  • Use of Color, Contrast & Texture – A visually stunning mix of plants and foliage.
  • Florida-Friendly & Native Plants – Sustainable choices that support our local ecosystems.
  • Water Conservation – Thoughtful use of irrigation and drought-resistant plants.
  • Curb Appeal – Pride of ownership and that undeniable “WOW” factor!

Nomination forms are available online at the Marco Island City Website—simply search ‘Marco In Bloom’—or pick up a paper form at Marco City Hall. Submit your entry by March 10th, 2026, and join the unveiling of winners at the April 6th City Council meeting. (Note: Contest winners from the past three years are not eligible.) Thank you for your creativity and dedication—together, let’s make Marco Island bloom brighter than ever!
