Congratulations go to Captains Terry and Rosie Pasch for planning and hosting this year's Marco Cruise Clubs Beach Day on the pristine beaches of White Horse Key, located in the Ten Thousand Islands. White Horse Key is claimed by some to have gotten its name because of an abundance of white horses, possibly used for transportation or work.
Members started early in the morning and headed out to Coon Key to join up with the fleet for their journey. It was a perfect day. Their destination: White Horse Key. The saying "it's the journey, not the destination" emphasizes that the experiences and growth gained along the way are more valuable than the end result. In this case, both the journey and destination did not disappoint - it was a tie.
Robert Baden-Powell, the founder of the Boy Scouts is quoted: "Try and leave this world a little better than you found it" is a profoundly simple rule to remind others to respect others and their property. Marco Cruise Club Members fully embrace this rule and left no trace behind. The games were over, the food and drinks gone, there was no sign left that they were there. The only thing they took away were lasting friendships, fond memories, and hopes of coming back again next year.
And although most snowbirds have left by now not to be seen until the fall, many of the remaining Marco Cruise Club members are looking forward to the Summer events about to unfold. For more info visit marcocruiseclub.com
