Marco Chamber of Commerce Forming Strategic Planning Committee

Posted

Marco Island Chamber of Commerce President William Morris today announced the formation of the Marco Island Chamber of Commerce Strategic Planning Committee. The creation of this committee was recently unanimously approved by the Chamber’s Board of Directors and contemplates a Chamber member-driven strategic planning initiative designed to assist in the continued advancement of the Chamber’s business activities.

“The spirit of the creation of this committee is to afford Chamber members with the opportunity to provide some direction to the organization as to what membership would like to see from their Chamber,” stated Morris. “Additionally, by embracing the input received from membership, the Chamber will be able to expand our suite of services to membership based on their input, thereby also increasing membership’s buy in, if you will, as they will see that the Chamber is not only listening to member’s input but also executing as a result.”

Committee Co-Chair Tom Thompson added, “The Committee is in the process of finalizing the format of our inaugural strategic planning session, however, Chamber membership can expect to receive a more detailed announcement within the next few days detailing the program, as well as the date and time during the month of June that this event will be held. This will be after season and from a calendar perspective will provide Chamber membership with greater flexibility of schedule given reduced, off-season workloads. Hence the possibility of greater membership attendance and participation.”
