Marco Chamber and Leadership Marco Awards Scholarships

The Marco Island Chamber of Commerce, in partnership with Leadership Marco, proudly awarded scholarships to eight outstanding local students during the May Chamber After Five event.

The scholarships were made possible through generous community support of the annual Souper Bowl fundraiser, hosted by Leadership Marco alumni. The popular event brings together local restaurants, students, seniors, local artists, families, and the broader Marco Island community for an afternoon of delicious soup and heartfelt generosity.

During the celebration, Donna Niemczyk, Chamber Programs and Events Manager, along with Chamber Director Jacki Strategos, introduced each scholarship recipient with a summary of their accomplishments and future goals before presenting them with their awards.

“The Souper Bowl is more than just a fundraiser,” said Dianna Dohm, Executive Director of the Chamber. “It’s a true community celebration, bringing together the Island’s youth, restaurants, Island’s seniors, and residents for a meaningful cause. Of all our events, this one is my favorite.”

The Marco Island Chamber and Leadership Marco Alumni extend heartfelt thanks to everyone who supported the Souper Bowl and made the scholarships possible.

Congratulations to the following students on receiving the 2025 Leadership Marco Scholarships:

Veronica Fernades, Helen Totten, Liam Smith, Michelle Acosta, Sandrais Mendoza-Jauregui, Brigid O’Sullivan, Morgan Thayer-Zolna and Edgar Perez.
