Some community events simply leave a lasting impression, and my first experience attending Lunch with Friends at Marco Lutheran Church Hall was certainly one of them.
From the moment I arrived, it was evident that Allyson Richards has created something truly special. Through her vision, leadership, and heartfelt commitment to serving others, this monthly gathering is special. It is a place where seniors come together to enjoy a healthy meal, share fellowship, make new friends, and experience the sense of belonging that strengthens our community.
The Arlington of Naples was honored to sponsor this month's luncheon, and I was delighted to attend as Director of Business Development. It was a pleasure to meet so many wonderful members of the Marco Island community and to share information about The Arlington's health and wellness programs while supporting such a meaningful event.
I also want to recognize the many individuals and organizations whose partnership makes Lunch with Friends possible, including Nancy Kot, Evelyn Rossetti-Ryan, Executive Director of Our Daily Bread Food Pantry, the volunteers of Our Daily Bread Food Pantry, Al's Pals, YMCA, and Marco Lutheran Church. Their dedication and collaboration are a wonderful example of community in action.
Guests enjoyed another exceptional meal prepared by Mr. Crab Cakes and participated in the popular bowl-painting activity benefiting the Marco Island Area Chamber of Commerce's "Souper Bowl" scholarship fundraiser. The afternoon was made even more memorable by a visit from Interim Marco Island Police Chief Joe Belardo, who took time to greet over 120 attendees at their tables and enjoy the fellowship.
Thank you, Allyson Richards, for your compassion, leadership, and tireless efforts to bring seniors together each month. After attending for the first time, it is easy to understand why Lunch with Friends has become such a beloved tradition. The Arlington of Naples is proud to support this wonderful program and the many volunteers who make it such a success.
