Washington Crossing Foundation, Bristol, Pennsylvania, announced the 2026 winners of its scholarships for high school seniors planning careers in government service. Local student, Gabriel Alsokary, a senior at Community School of Naples in Naples, Florida, received the Landco Foods Scholarship. He is actively involved with his school community and encourages his peers in academics and extra-curricular activities. He is the son of Ziad and Jennifer Alsokary of Marco Island, Florida. Gabriel will attend the United States Air Force Academy.

Scholarships were established in 1970 and continue in honor of the late Ann Hawkes Hutton, Founding Chairman of the Washington Crossing Foundation. This year, the Foundation awarded $77,000 in scholarships, bringing the current total amount awarded to $2,270,500.

The prestigious scholarships are awarded annually to patriotic high school seniors dedicated to serving their school, their community, and their country. This is exemplified by General Washington and his men in their heroic crossing of the Delaware on Christmas night 1776.

Awards were presented by previous scholarship winners Gerald Papazian, California and Nick DiIorio, Connecticut, both Foundation Trustees. There were many returning scholars in attendance at the Awards Ceremony in Pennsylvania. Veterans were honored at the event and a specialty cake was cut by George Washington, aka John Godzieba, PA.
