This year Sisbarro Acting Studio is rolling back the clock to the silent film era of the 1920’s. Enter Billy Parker, a Nebraskan country boy who dreams of making it big as a Hollywood cowboy hero. Billy and his little brother Buster are big fans of Handsome Hank Wilson and his beautiful co-star Miss Priscilla Ganes. Billy would love nothing more than to ride off into the sunset with the lovely leading lady of the cowboy westerns, it would be his dream come true.

Meanwhile, Walter Graham of Graham Studios looks for a new edge in his “same old same old” Westerns. With the help of his most successful and sadistic Director, King Vicious, they take a chance of bringing the newest rage over from Paris, the “Can Can” and feature what was considered a provocative dance for its time in their new western flick. Aside from their regular cast of chorus girls, Graham is looking for real cowboys, not two-bit actors from Brooklyn. He holds open auditions.

Billy, along with his best friend Chip, an amateur rodeo rider, decides to take a chance, hop on a train, and head out to the bright lights of Hollywood. The only horse Billy can ride is a plow horse; however, he takes a chance on fate, to get hired as an extra and meet his dream girl Priscilla.

Join in the fun where you meet Billy’s midwestern backward family, an array of cowboys, can-can dancers, and the studio heads; Walter Graham, King Vicious, the only staff member with common sense, the assistant administrative Dasiey Adams, and of course Handsome Hank Wilson and the dazzling beauty Miss Priscilla Gaines.

This year’s show is sure to entertain! The cast is made up of the best of the best from the studio’s theater programs. The ages are from twenty-two years of age to a fifth grader at Tommie Barfield Elementary School. Age has nothing to do with talent! This is a must-see for the island and it is free to the community. In addition to our wonderful actors, we have brought in Ms. Maggie O’Rourke as our choreographer for the Can Can dance!

The play will be held on January 24th & 25th @ 7:00 PM and on January 26th a 1:00 PM at the Marco Island Charter Middle School Stage and Auditorium. The play is rated PG; therefore appropriate for general viewing but may contain some material that is not suitable for young children.

See you all in Hollywood!
