Lely Alumnus Opens Chiropractic Clinic with New X-Ray Method

Lely High School alumnus Joshua Wagner has returned to his hometown to open his own chiropractic clinic, and he’s bringing a new technology that no other clinic in Naples offers.

Wagner Family Chiropractic, located in Suite 101 at 2800 Davis Blvd, had its soft opening earlier this month, bringing with it motion X-ray analysis, something which, according to Wagner, only four other chiropractic clinics in the state use.

Instead of taking a single static photograph, as most other chiropractors use, Wagner’s clinic uses a digital motion X-ray, which captures a video of your back in motion to better diagnose and address a patient’s spinal problems.

Wagner said he first set his sights on becoming a chiropractor after receiving treatment in middle school, when he was heavily involved in cross-country and other sports, noting that he felt amazing after regular spinal adjustments and that he wanted to give other people the same opportunities for treatment.

“Everyone beats up their bodies these days pretty badly, and a lot of people are confused about how to put themselves back together,” Wagner said.

“I'm like trying to get people in the door just to showcase, and a lot of people don't really understand how important their spinal health is until it becomes too late, where I can't really do much anymore because they need surgery, replacement of some sort. That's why I started Wagner Family Chiropractic because I want to keep families healthy.”

Wagner said that when he was in chiropractic school, he learned many different methods to treat someone’s back to accommodate a wide range of issues, but when he attended a conference during his first semester, he came to learn about the motion X-ray method and became sold on it as a primary means of diagnosing and treating patients.

“When I was there at a conference, they were showing me a bunch of pre- and post-X-ray changes, a bunch of nerve scan changes, the reviews, and the patients that were experiencing all that stuff had nothing but the highest regards for these doctors and said they wish that almost every chiropractor does this. So after listening to them speak for a weekend, I was fully bought in and just started learning like this,” Wagner said.

After graduating, and with his wife's encouragement, the two returned to Naples so that Wagner could open his own clinic, where he could put his method into practice.

The clinic has already begun to see its first patients, and Wagner said it’s been satisfying to put his method into practice.

While its soft opening was earlier this month, Wagner and the Greater Naples Chamber of Commerce will be hosting a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 4:00 PM on July 30, followed by an open house until 8:00 PM. The event will be free to the public with complimentary food and drink. Wagner said that he hopes to prove himself to the community and added that he felt blessed to have the opportunity to work with people on his own terms in his own clinic.

“I'm in the greatest profession in the world, and I found the greatest technique and way to help people. So I'm just ecstatic to be here in the position I'm at. It's been really stressful, a lot of ups and downs, but the moment I got to open that door, when I opened that door for the first time all last Monday, I knew this is where I need to be, so I'm over the moon.”
