Knights Come Out Swinging For Charity

Posted

The San Marco Knights of Columbus held their 50th Charity Golf Tournament in May, which saw 144 enthusiastic golfers come out swinging to support a very successful fundraising event. The 18-hole “best ball scramble” would benefit one of the most philanthropic organizations on Marco Island. Once the tournament was over, attendees gathered inside the elegant clubhouse for a buffet luncheon and distribution of raffle prizes as well as the announcement of the winner and runner ups.

Funds raised from the event benefit organizations such as Our Daily Bread Food Pantry, St. Vincent de Paul, Knights College Scholarships, Judy Sullivan Resource Center, Marco Dementia Respite, Habitat for Humanity, Warrior Homes, Community Pregnancy Centers, Honor Flight to Washington D.C., and The Catholic Faith Appeal, to just to name a few.

The Knights were proud to have the Phelan Restaurant Group as their major event sponsor, providing each golfer with a $100 gift card good at any of their establishments on Marco or off the island.

The Knights of Columbus show a mission of Charity, Unity, Fraternity and Patriotism. Their membership exceeds 2.1 million members worldwide as of 2024.
