The Kiwanis Club of Marco Island is proud to welcome Lori Galiana as its newest member. A dedicated educator and longtime Marco Island resident, Lori brings more than two decades of experience shaping young lives through teaching and leadership.

Lori has lived on Marco Island since 2001 and recently retired after 23 years in education, serving at Marco Island Charter Middle School (MICMS), Gulf Coast High School, and most recently, Marco Island Academy (MIA), where she taught for the past 12 years. During her time at MIA, Lori served as the Advisor for the school’s Key Club, which has been recognized as one of the Top 10 Key Clubs in the state of Florida for the past seven years. Lori loved teaching in our local community and working with kids.

Now joining Kiwanis, Lori is excited to continue her lifelong mission of mentoring and empowering youth. She will serve as a Kiwanis Advisor to both the MIA Key Club and MICMS Builders Club, helping to guide students in leadership, character development, and community service.

“I’ve always believed in the mission of the Marco Island Kiwanis,” said Lori. “This organization works tirelessly to raise funds, mentor young people, and improve the lives of children here on Marco and in Naples. I’m honored to continue supporting our youth and encouraging others to join in this important work.”

Lori also shared her hope that more community members will become involved with Kiwanis, noting how vital strong adult role models are for today’s children.

“As a former teacher, I’ve seen firsthand how many kids lack family support or resources. Kids are our future, and they need adults to show them real values in a constantly changing world. From our Terrific Kids program at TBE to our college scholarships, Kiwanis is there to support kids,” she added.

Outside of her community involvement, Lori has been married to Alex Galiana, current Kiwanis Treasurer, for 38 years. She and Alex are proud parents of two grown sons, AJ and Max, who continue to inspire her passion for helping young people reach their full potential.

The Kiwanis Club of Marco Island is thrilled to have Lori join its ranks and looks forward to the continued impact she will make in shaping the next generation of leaders.
