The Kiwanis Club of Marco Island held its first breakfast meeting on Thursday, October 16th, at Ori's Bakery, where they recognized four Terrific Kids from the fifth Grade at Tommie Barfield Elementary School.
Monroe Gentile, according to her teacher, Mrs. Dolan, is an absolute sweetheart and one of the kindest souls you will ever meet. Monroe's warm presence and positive energy can light up any room she enters. Her classmates describe her as genuine, kind, loving, friendly, and loyal. Monroe has a brother, sister, and a dog named Byride. Her family owns three restaurants. Outside of school, she likes to play softball and would choose the superpower of teleportation. If she could go anywhere in the world, Monroe would like to go to Fiji because of the pretty water. When she grows up, she wants to be a model.
Benjamin Paolini says that he has a very supporting and loving Mom and Dad, and two brothers. Outside of school, he likes to go in his pool and play football with his Dad and friends. For a superpower, he would like to control the weather so that it would always be sunny. He would love to visit Italy because of the good food. When he grows up, he wants to play football, hopefully for the Kansas City Chiefs. His teacher, Mrs. Pena, says that Benjamin is an intelligent and hard-working young man who is a great leader. He is friendly and always willing to help others. He sets a good example with his positive attitude and teamwork.
Riley Hernandez Autierrez, according to her teacher, Mrs. Kerens, is a ray of sunshine! She is always on task, makes good choices, and loves to help everyone near her. She makes the classroom a sweet place. Outside of school, Riley likes to play volleyball. If she could have any superpower, she would like speed, so that she could hit the volleyball faster. Riley would like to visit Hawaii for the beaches, and when she grows up, she wants to be a fashion designer or a business owner.
Finn McGuire has one brother named Graham. He has a three-legged cat named Taz and a fish named Bubbles. Outside of school, Finn likes to swim, play baseball, and ride his bike to Mackle Park to play soccer with his friends. His superpower of choice would be the ability to breathe underwater. Finn would like to go to the Atlantis Hotel. He went there once and it was the best vacation with his grandparents, aunt, uncle, cousins, parents, and brother. When he grows up, he wants to be a professional athlete and play baseball for the Cubs. Finn's teacher, Mrs. Fisher, said that Finn consistently shows responsibility and respect, setting a great example for others. His enthusiasm and eagerness to learn make the classroom a brighter place. He is supportive and helpful with his classmates-his kindness does not go unnoticed!
