Italian American Society Trade Scholarship

The Italian American Society of Marco Island is currently accepting applications for a $1,000 scholarship opportunity for a graduating senior from any Collier County High School who will be attending a post-high school education in the trades (examples would include automotive, diesel, aviation, and marine technology, cosmetology, culinary, electrical, HVAC, plumbing, welding and many others).

The applicant must be of Italian ancestry/heritage and have a GPA of 3.0 or higher. While all Collier County High School graduates are eligible, priority will be given to students from Marco Island and students from the Marco Island Academy, Lely High, and Naples High School. Further details and the application can be found on the Collier County Scholarship Connector (swflscholarships.org) under the heading "Fred Carchietta Memorial Scholarship." Family and friends of the deceased member of the Italian American Society, Fred Carchietta, who was a tradesman in life, wanted to honor his life by funding the IAS with a scholarship for a student in the trades field.

The Italian American Society is a not-for-profit organization whose purpose is to promote Italian culture, provide educational scholarships to students of Italian ancestry/heritage, support local charities and to have fun by participating in a variety of Society sponsored activities. Further information is available on our website (iasmi.org).
