Happy Hour at Snook Inn a Huge Success

Posted

Supporters of Meals of Hope Marco Island gathered at the famous Snook Inn for a very successful charitable Happy Hour that brought members of the community together to raise funds and awareness for the organization’s mission of eradicating hunger in Collier County. Welcoming the guests were members of the Kiwanis Club who generously volunteered their time.

For a $20 donation, attendees enjoyed a delicious spread of appetizers served family style at each table. A special thank you goes to Luigi Carvelli and his staff at Snook Inn for graciously providing the venue and the delicious food. Bill Beck entertained the crowd throughout the event, followed by a 50/50 raffle which was won by Robert Thomas, who generously donated his winnings back, further supporting the organization’s cause.

Meals of Hope Marco Island is a combined effort of Sunrise Rotary, Noontime Rotary, and the Kiwanis Club who volunteer their time at Happy Hours to welcome community members and local business associates to the event.

Are you aware that in Collier County, over 11.7% of residents experience food insecurity, including 15% to 19.4% of children, and 33% of local seniors who struggle to get enough healthy food each month? Meals of Hope’s mission is to help eradicate hunger in Collier County. As a member of our community, you can help by volunteering at the annual packaging event being held on Saturday, November 14, 2026, at the Marco Island Charter Middle School. If you are interested in participating in the meal-packaging event and enjoying two hours of fun while serving the community, or if you would like to learn more about Meals of Hope, please visit our website at mohmi.org or mealsofhope.org. Online registration opens on October 14, 2026.

Meals of Hope needs to raise $60,000 for this event but to make it happen, we need your help through your generous donations. All funds raised at Happy Hours, along with community donations, are used to purchase the raw food materials for Meals of Hope packages, which are distributed throughout Collier County by its accredited food bank partners to needy recipients, free of charge. Meals of Hope is a 501 (c)3 not-for-profit entity.

We gratefully acknowledge our 2026 Friends of Hope, whose generosity makes it possible for Meals of Hope to continue its mission of feeding the hungry throughout Collier County: Tom Mann of All Event Party Rental, Erik Condee of Condee Cooling and Electric, The Carvelli Group, Pam Shniper, Jim and Allyson Richards, John McGonigle, Barbara Kaumann, The Sandlin Team, Robert and Catherine Thomas, Donna Dubey, Sue Purvis, Tom Menaker, William G. Morris, Gwyn Steiner, Arne and Jill Sandberg and Nancy Needleman.

The community is invited to another Happy Hour at Mango’s Dockside Bistro on Tuesday, August 25, 2026 from 4:00 - 6:00 PM. Entertainment will be provided by Lance Shearer.

Bring a friend and join us as we come together to help eliminate hunger in Collier County!
