The Friends of Fakahatchee will start their seasonal tram tours of Florida's largest state park on Friday, Dec. 6. The 10 am tours will be offered each Friday through mid-April.
Seats are still available on Friday tours on December 6, 13, 20, and 27. The tour lets participants discover the Preserve’s protected wildlife and plants without walking or driving. The $35 tour begins at 10 am and concludes at 12:30 p.m. These naturalist-led tours include an optional 10-minute walk to see numerous air plants, a variety of ferns, and seasonally blooming orchids.
“Our December tours have always been popular with residents who want to share the wonders of Florida with their holiday visitors,” said Friends of Fakahatchee executive director Francine Stevens. “Cooler temperatures and clear skies make conditions perfect for a guided tour of Florida’s largest state park.”
