Captains For Clean Water (CFCW) announces an official partnership with Storm Smart, a Fort Myers-based company that designs, manufactures and installs a variety of hurricane protection products. The partnership advances CFCW's mission by increasing awareness of Florida's water-quality issues and solutions through education and amplified advocacy during key moments.
Decades of water mismanagement of the greater Everglades watershed has resulted in devastating impacts to water bodies from coast to coast. Characterized by exacerbated harmful algal blooms and polluted discharges from Lake Okeechobee, the consequences include severe economic, ecological, and public safety implications. CFCW advocates to advance Everglades restoration as the science-based solution to these issues and has rallied supporters across the nation to get involved. Their efforts have infused the conservation movement with a fresh, new energy that has positioned the outdoor community at the forefront and inspired everyone to work together to protect the delicate natural resources we all enjoy. Partnering with local businesses, like Storm Smart, has been an effective way to spread awareness for these issues and solutions, as well as engage more passionate advocates in the fight for clean water.
“Partnering with Storm Smart marks a pivotal step forward for Captains For Clean Water in our mission to protect and preserve Florida’s waterways. By joining forces with a company that shares our passion for Everglades restoration and safeguarding our natural ecosystems, we are amplifying our efforts to protect both our coastal communities and vital water resources. This collaboration allows us to expand our reach, strengthen advocacy for water quality, and ensure that together, we are building a healthier, more resilient future for generations to come.” Dianna Ryan, Community and Business Outreach Coordinator at Captains For Clean Water
“At Storm Smart, we recognize the vital importance of Florida's waterways to our communities and environment. Partnering with Captains For Clean Water aligns with our commitment to preserving these natural resources for future generations." Scot Burris, CEO at Storm Smart
With this partnership, Storm Smart joins the grassroots nonprofit’s growing list of supporting businesses in Southwest Florida, including Sanibel Captiva Community Bank, Doc Ford's Rum Bar & Grille, Dixie Fish Company, Backyard Social, and Pink Shell Resort & Marina, among many others.
