Calusa Garden Club Receives Orchid Donation

Posted

Calusa Garden Club of Marco Island established and maintains its orchid, bromeliad, and shade plant garden at Leigh Plummer Park on Barfield Drive. On September 12, 2026, Marco Island resident Cindy Dohm generously donated a large number of varied species of orchids from her orchid collection.

Dohm had learned of the Garden Club’s established collection of orchids in the garden at Leigh Plummer Park and wanted to add to the Club’s collection.

Additional Club members added to the project on September 19 as they met at the park in order to accomplish the precision work required to mount Dohm’s collection of orchids in the trees of the shade garden.

Calusa Garden Club of Marco Island is a Section 501(c)3 organization and is a member of the Florida Federation of Garden Clubs, Inc. Membership is open to persons interested in horticulture, floral design and environmental matters residing five months or more in Collier County.

Calusa Garden Club of Marco Island meets the second Monday of each month, October, November, and January through April at Rose Hall at the Marco Island Branch Library.
