The Marco Sportfishing Club presented awards at their February meeting for their signature annual offshore fishing event, the Offshore Slam, which is proudly sponsored by Rose Marina. The tournament is a year-long event requiring anglers to catch a “Slam” of four different offshore species, including a Grouper and a Snapper. The 2025 Champion Angler award went to Kevin Krygier, and the Top Captain award went to Mike Lopez. In addition to these awards, prizes were given to the second place angler Jim Scarpa, third place angler Frank Troha, and for the largest fish entered from each of the tournament species as follows: Grouper, Lesser AJ and Cobia – Jim Scarpa; Snapper and AJ – Mike Mueller; Permit and Almaco Jack – Frank Troha; King – Kevin Krygier; Porgy – Jim Parent.

Also at the meeting, Dan High, Rose Marina General Manager, announced a $6,000 bonus award for the 2026 Offshore Slam first to third place finishers in celebration of Rose Marina’s 60th anniversary. Rose Marina has been the Offshore Slam event sponsor since its inception six years ago and we truly appreciate their generosity and support.
