The girls’ team had four of the top five finishers and two other runners in the top 10. Two MICMS finished in the top 10.

“The team is awesome this year,” said head coach CAT Burke, “I feel the reason for their success is that they’re really supportive and encouraging of each other. That makes a good team. MICMS seems to always have good teams, but this team is exceptional.”

“It was an invitational,” Burke said. "We ran the whole team together. The whole team finished first - both the boys and the girls. There were 13 total teams involved in the race. They’ve all qualified to run in the states in Lakeland. We always have fun in Lakeland. We get hotel rooms and have a really big dinner the night before.”
