The marina will provide 22 state-of-the-art wet slips, ranging from 50 to 125 feet long by a minimum of 23 feet wide. The State of Florida accounts for a 10-percent growth in boats 40 to 65 feet or longer, and because larger slips are in high demand, this one-of-a-kind, turn-key marina project has already elicited several wet slip membership sales, with deposits on almost 50-percent of the available slips.
“Market demand for boats over 65 feet has grown substantially over the past few years,” Mr. Everitt commented. “The available inventory of slips big enough to accommodate these yachts in Southwest Florida is tight. We felt there was a compelling need. So, after months of research studies and meetings with marina and marine experts, our Board concluded that the Yacht Club could offer yacht owners and boaters a viable solution.”
Marco Island Yacht Club sits right on the Marco River, just below the Jolley Bridge as you drive onto the island and is only one and a half unobstructed miles from the Gulf of Mexico. With over 200 members, the Club has been named “One of the Top Twenty Yacht Clubs in America.”
“Our exclusive wet slip memberships will offer boaters complete availability of water, electricity, pump-out facilities, lighting and security cameras,” Everitt continued. “We’ll be installing state-of-the-art docking technologies designed to meet Category One to Category Three hurricane standards. We’ll have a full-time Dockmaster, and each wet slip membership comes with full member status at the Yacht Club.”
Within the Club and marina complex itself, amenities will include the Clubhouse featuring fine dining or the Burgee Bar veranda for cocktails and lighter meals, plus a swimming pool, exercise room, restrooms, showers, and laundry facilities.
