The Marco Island Historical Society is now preparing to publish its’ first Marco Treasures – a Recipe Collection for all members to both contribute and then purchase.  Find one to three of your favorite “Florida flavor” recipes and send it/them to the Marco Island Historical Society no later than October 10, 2012.

It will have a historical theme representing Marco’s flavor and past:  the clam factory, pineapple plantation,  the vast fisheries and the tropical bounty of both flora and fauna. Regional, Florida, Tropical.

Now for the particulars! We will have several categories:

  • Happy Hour – Appetizers & Beverages
  • Soups,  Salads, & Sauces
  • Veggies & Sides
  • Entrees
  • Breads
  • Desserts
  • Island Chefs

We’re also looking for local historical recipes. i.e. “Burnham’s Clam Stew”

Once we’ve gathered enough scrumptious recipes full of meals that represent you and Marco Island, we’ll submit for publication.
