The Marco Island Area Chamber of Commerce held a successful Wet Paint Live event on February 16, raising more than $17,000 for student scholarships.
For the tenth year, local artists brought their canvas and paints to various locations throughout Marco Island and Goodland, and spent the day painting en plein air, outside in the elements. It was anamazing show of talent by the 21 artists who participated, creating original works of art, outside of the studio, and under strict time constraints. The artists brought their completed paintings to Rose History Auditorium for a live auction that evening.
Proceeds from the live auction were divided between the Leadership Marco scholarship fund and the artists. Student scholarships will be distributed in the spring.
