On any given Sunday, the Wesley United Methodist Church offers a contemporary service at 9 AM and a traditional service at 10:30 AM with Sunday school classes offered at the coinciding times; however, on Sunday, July 8th, they held a special 10 AM combined service followed by a welcome reception to officially greet Reverend Bill Fisackerly and his family to Marco Island.

Reverend Bill, as he is known, comes from a long legacy of Methodist ministers and for over 32 years he and his wife Kim, a woman of many talents, have devoted their entire married life to ministering in the state of Florida. The couple is blessed with three adult children, Bethany, Ally, and Wil. Wil, a recent FSC graduate who was in attendance, will be heading to grad school at Rinker School of Business in the fall.

Both Reverend Bill and Kim Fisackerly are eager to get involved with the “island life,” get acquainted with church members, and begin work in community outreach.

“We are currently living out of boxes but are looking forward to holding many informal gatherings at the parsonage. Our mission is to reach out to full-time residents, our members, and young people in the area, letting everyone know that they are always welcome at our home and at church,” explains an energetic Kim Fisackerly.

For Rev. Bill and Kim from Karen Rownd in Tampa Palms. Wish you were here to meet my cute new female collie puppy, Rickie! A match truly made in heaven when Ruffy died at my feet 8-10-18 of an orthopedic collapse with no warning. I left St. James for about 6 weeks after you left but Pastor Tony and Debbie and I met walking Ruffy one day and he is continuing your Weds. “Going Deeper” and I eventually returned. His wife Debbie was here to pray when Ruffy died. God works in mysterious and wonderful ways and hope all is well with you and your family! Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family. Rickie and I were truly a match made in heaven.
