The Island Theater Company’s musical romp of the old Wild West, “Saga Of Roaring Gulch,” has reopened, featuring music director and piano player extraordinaire, Lucille Gaita.

“We Love Lucille” is the mantra of the cast and crew of the Saga production. And Lucille “is thrilled to be working once again on the 20th year anniversary show.”

Lucille has worked with many performers including The Drifters, Loretta Long, The Ink Spots, Barbara McNair, Tiny Tim, Joey Bishop, Alan Jones, Tessie O’Shea and Queen Esther Marrow. She played piano for acts such as Bob Hope, Bobby Rydell, Lou Christie, Little Anthony, Mary Wells, The Crystals, and many more.

Lucille has been music director for productions performed at the Marco Lutheran Church, under Craig Greusel’s direction. Shows include “Barnum,” “Fiddler on the Roof,” “Music Man,” and “Frankenstein: A New Musical.”

to be doing it again after twenty years and working with the same director and a brand new cast and crew.”

In addition to Lucille on piano, the cast includes Kris Knudson (Wyatt Winchester), Christine High (Hilda Heartfelt), John Moulton, (Gambler Bart Black), Mai Puccio (Calantha), Jared Wagner (Hoot Hill), Kathy O’Brien (wronged girl), Karen Anglin (Clara), Judy Daye (Carrie Nation), Barbara Canton (town lady), Jay Terzis (bartender), Garrett Chamberlain (Slippery Stan Slade), and Mollie Boyer and Cathy Clausen-Neff (dance hall girls).

“Saga of Roaring Gulch” runs March 17 – 20, and March 31 – April 3 at the Rose History Auditorium, 180 S. Heathwood Drive. Shows are at 7:30 PM, Sunday matinees at 2:30 PM. Tickets ($20) can be purchased at the Marco Island Historical Society Gift Shop, 180 S. Heathwood Drive, Centennial Bank, 615 E.
