NAWA’s mission is to promote women artists and provide a forum for them to share ideas and to exhibit their work. Through its exhibitions, seminars and other educational programs, NAWA fosters awareness of the contributions of women to the history of American art. The Florida chapter of the organization was established in 1991 to further enhance the programs of its national organization and to better serve area artists. The chapter also provides scholarships for talented high school art students on an annual basis.
