Board members play an integral role in United Way’s infrastructure, helping the organization make significant and measurable impact in the community. Since 1957, the UW of Collier County has been creating innovative strategic partnerships that drive human, community, and business success. A volunteer driven organization, United Way of Collier County partners with local charities that provide hundreds of human service programs and annually serve over 100,000 Collier residents. Agencies’ funding proposals are analyzed by local volunteers and donations are invested in programs that address high priority issues such as hunger, abuse, education, homelessness, and health. Without funding from county tax dollars, and 31 vital charities partnering with United Way of Collier County, a major fundraising campaign is conducted annually. The organization’s goal for 2012-2013 is $2.5 million. To give, or to get involved in this year’s effort, please call 239-261-7112.
