United Way of Collier County celebrated the success of the Publix Super Markets United Way Campaign through “Publix Appreciation Day,” held on Thursday, February 21st. As part of the annual event, United Way Board of Directors and staff visited all 19 local Publix stores to thank the organization and its associates for raising $874,752.00 for the community through United Way. Store managers were presented with plaques and special posters, handmade by the leadership organization’s partner agencies.
In Collier County, Publix has been United Way’s top contributor for more than 20 years. This year, Publix Associates’ payroll deductions totaled $498,752.00, which was matched by Publix Charities with 70 cents for every dollar, adding another $376,000.00 to the total amount contributed on behalf of Publix.
