Twenty-First Birthday Bash

Those who helped Crazy Flamingo celebrate their Twenty-First birthday weren’t disappointed! The crowds and clear weather helped make the event a success, along with great food, hot off the grill, and cold drinks to beat the heat. Jeff Hilt entertained the crowd throughout the day with his melodic guitar and tunes everyone likes to sing along to. There was a Dora the Explorer bounce house for the little ones. Molly Walsh displayed her photographic prowess with local scenes available for purchase. Tom Phillips manned the kettle corn tent. Rose Kriberscheck, manager commented, “Most of the people working volunteered their time just for this event! Like Nancy, she’s serving up hamburgers and she put off going home to North Carolina for an entire week just to help out today during the birthday celebration! We really appreciate all the people who have helped make this a great day!”
The first wing eating contest of the day was as much fun for spectators as it was for the entrants. Chicken wings were flying! Contestants stuffed them into their mouths, sauce dripping down their arms, and then flung the clean bones into buckets. It was a race to the finish when Alan Sapp, with cheeks bulging, was announced the winner with no wings left to eat. But chants from the crowd quickly brought discovery that another contestant had not only finished his wings, but SWALLOWED all the contests in his mouth. Danny Dawber, General Manager of the Crazy Flamingo, made the call official: Vince D’Allura took the prize.
The ‘Bald Eagle’ contest followed, meant only for those with iron stomachs and the willingness to eat some of the hottest wings around! Everyone had a blast at Crazy Flamingo’s Twenty-First Birthday Bash!
