Close your eyes and imagine the days from childhood when you had that special friend that always made things better. That special friend may have been your very own favorite stuffed animal. That special friend was someone to hold, someone to love, someone with whom you could share your precious childhood dreams. With just a hug, that stuffed animal could wash away your tears and greatest fears.

The American Cancer Society cordially invites you to their annual black-tie optional affair, the Imagination Ball 2016, “Wash Away Cancer” on Saturday, March 5 at 6 PM at the Marco Island Marriott Beach Resort & Spa. Presented by BMO Private Bank, the elegant evening will offer many opportunities to fight back against this dreadful disease.

Cancer is a hardship for anyone, but especially for a child. John R. Wood Properties is the stuffed animal sponsor for this year’s event. Cuddly, adorable, plush turtles are available for adoption by you for $100. Your adopted stuffed turtle, along with a card with your personal message of healing, will then be given to a sick child in a local hospital. Imagine the comfort they will provide! The proceeds from the turtles will be donated by the Marco Island chapter of the American Cancer Society to a general fund for cancer research, services, and treatment.

The turtles are being pre-sold at the Marco Island Florist and Gift (178 S. Barfield Dr.) and BMO Harris Bank (800 N. Collier Blvd.). Please stop by these locations to adopt your turtle and then join us on March 5 for this wonderful event. A limited amount of tickets remain. For more information, go to www.acsimaginationball.com, or contact Nikkie Sardelli at your American Cancer Society, 239-642-8800 ext. 3894 or Nikkie.Sardelli@cancer.org.
