A hidden jewel known as the Naples Botanical Garden offers not only beauty and serenity to guests, but recently offered the music of The Woodwork, a popular area band. Over a recent weekend, a small gathering equipped with blankets and chairs swayed to the quirky, upbeat, nostalgic blend of folk and jazz music being played on the Water Garden Stage.
“We were pleasantly surprised to happen upon this performance. As members of the Naples Botanical Garden, we had already planned on visiting here today. The music was a special bonus for us,” explains Gina Thomas, who danced while holding 2½-year-old son Halston on her hip during the two-hour performance. “Now, it’s time for naps,” she says, as she starts to pack up the stroller.
On July 28 and 29 from noon to 2 PM, the Naples Botanical Garden offers a musical performance by the Kelly and Mason Duo. Guests are encouraged to bring a chair or blanket. Outside food and beverage are prohibited. A brunch menu is available at Fogg Café, Saturdays and Sundays 9 AM to 2 PM. Admission is free to members, and $14.95 for general adult admission.
