Beginning Friday, January 1, 2016, services at the Jewish Congregation of Marco Island will be conducted by Rabbi Mark Gross.
Rabbi Gross retired in late June, and became rabbi emeritus at Temple Beth Orr, Coral Springs, Florida, after 29 years of service. Upon his retirement, the temple members, local dignitaries and clergy honored his achievements for his services to Temple Beth Orr and the City of Coral Springs.
Rabbi Gross will bring his excellent experience to the Jewish Congregation of Marco Island and to the City of Marco Island. He was ordained at the Hebrew Union College and also received a Doctor of Divinity from that College.
Rabbi is able to trace his lineage of being a rabbi through 18 generations. Rabbi has spent a lifetime immersed in Torah, devoting his life in service to his Congregants.
Sue Baum, President of the Jewish Congregation of Marco Island, stated: “The Congregation looks forward to starting the New Year with Rabbi Gross, a gifted man, with excellent education, experience and the ability to lead. The Community is welcome to attend the service, which begins at 8 PM, Friday, January 1st, 2016. A special Oneg Shabbat, honoring the occasion, will follow the service.”
