In this hilarious and touching comedy, five unforgettable women, whose friendships began on their college swim team over 30 years ago, set aside a long weekend every year to recharge those relationships.
Written by trio Jessie Jones, Nicholas Hope, and Jamie Wooten, “The Dixie Swim Club” is set at the same beach cottage on North Carolina’s Outer Banks where the friends meet to catch up, laugh, and meddle in each other’s lives. Each woman has a strong personality, yet they interact with fondness and share lots of humor as well as some sadness. “The Dixie Swim Club” is an enjoyable show that, though light on dealing with conflict, does have a sweet sentiment for five women who support each other through thick and thin.
Directed by Anna Segreto, the cast includes Patti Caroli (Lexie), who is outspoken and determined to hold on to her youth, Rhonda Davis (Vernadette), acutely aware of the dark cloud that hovers over her life, Kay Wylie-Jacob (Sheree) the spunky team captain who desperately tries to maintain her “perfect” life, Judy Scribner sweet and eager-to-please (Jeri Neal), and Carla Grieve (Dinah) the wisecracking overachiever.
