The story is set in Truvy Jones’ (Kathleen Barney) beauty salon, a breeding ground for gossip and advice of all kinds. With her enthusiastic assistant, Annelle Dupuy (Stacey Boisvert) at her side, Truvy lends her talented hands and outspoken attitude to the manes and hearts of the most privileged women in town.
For most of the play, the audience is entertained with an incredibly funny show with lots of lively banter between Truvy, Annelle, and regular clients (Karen Ezrine, Carol Fenstermacher, and Mai Puccio). But, this perception is soon flipped when Shelby Eatenton-Latcherie (Karen Anglin), a woman with diabetes, chances pregnancy and endangers her life. This experience, though sad, sets the heart-felt tone that places sisterhood on the forefront.
