The 94th Annual Kiwanis Convention of the Florida Districts being held at the Marco Island Marriott Resort from August 25 thru August 28, 2011. Over 900 Kiwanis Club members from all over the state of Florida along with their guests will attend this year’s convention. It is the third time in15 years that the convention is being held at the Marco Island Marriott Resort.
A busy schedule is planned for the attendees including seminars, luncheons and meetings. The evenings are open for the Kiwanians to enjoy Marco Island. This is a great time for all of us to show off our beautiful city to visitors from as near as Naples to as far as Pensacola. Many of the attendees extend their stay over the weekend as they love to visit Marco Island.
The Kiwanis Club of Marco Island members will participate in the convention. Board members will represent the Club as Delegates in the election of officers and club business. Several of the members will volunteer registering attendees and other various duties to assure a successful convention.
Kiwanians are volunteers changing the world through service to children and communities. Kiwanis members help shelter the homeless, feed the hungry, mentor the disadvantaged, and care for the sick. They develop youth as leaders, build playgrounds, raise funds for pediatric research, provide scholarships & school supplies and much more. No problem is too big or too small. Why? Because working together, members achieve what one person cannot accomplish alone. When you give a child a chance to learn, experience, dream, and succeed, great things happen!
