The elegant Esplanade on Collier Boulevard, built in 2004, is one of the newest condos on Marco Island. The developer successfully created an Italian coastal village theme, complete with marina, waterfront promenade, and outdoor plaza with fountains and palm trees. The prestigious complex houses 71 residential condos, retail shops and offices.

Last week seven condos at the Esplanade were for sale, ranging in price from $498,000 for a 2-bedroom, 2-bathroom 1,368 square foot condo to a 3-bedroom, 3-bathroom 2,174 square foot condo, listed for $1,100,000. On site is a large public parking garage, private parking for residents, secluded pools, stylish community room, and gym. were for sale, ranging in price from $39,000 for a 30-foot dock to $435,000 for a 60-foot dock. The dock master can arrange rental slips.

Some of the Esplanade condos can be rented weekly, and some are rented monthly. Rentals go for $2,200 to $2,800 per week and $6,500 to $8,000 per month in season. Owners can have pets up to 17 inches from paw to shoulder. Security is provided with gated access to one of the buildings, and secure elevator codes for the other buildings.

elevator to the ground floor for her morning coffee at 5th Avenue Coffee Company, or breakfast outdoors at Mango’s Dockside Bistro. Some of her neighbors spend the morning golfing, swimming, beaching or boating to Naples for lunch with friends. Some prefer a Yoga class at Revival with Kerri Lampos or shopping at any of the stores surrounding the plaza. Protocol is a contemporary fashion forward ladies store; C’est La Vie is a European-inspired ladies boutique; Chloe’s has contemporary casual ladies clothing; Butterfly Beach features the latest clothing, jewelry and footwear for the entire family. Mangos Dockside Shoppe features gifts and décor, including Sharon’s company’s tea towel collection.

You can do your banking at BMO Harris Bank; dine at three fine restaurants – Mango’s Dockside Bistro for casual island fare, the ever-popular CJ’s featuring fresh, local seafood, and Chop 239 for steak and lobster. CJ’s outside gazebo bar is the go-to meeting place for island residents, with music on Thursday evenings. Popular treats can be found at Cold Stone Creamery.
