Thank you to Steve Stefanides and the Christmas Island Style Committee for organizing plans to celebrate safely. As we approach the holiday season during the COVID–19 Pandemic, Marco Island can still celebrate the holidays, we just need to celebrate a little differently this year. The Christmas Island Style Committee has creatively streamlined a few events with social distancing. No reason to be a Grinch and grumble.
Marco Island will still have a Christmas Boat Parade, a beautiful Christmas tree will still light up Veteran’s Community Park and Founder’s Park, and the Christmas Parade will be a children’s alternative, safe drive through event.
And don’t forget that the Christmas House Decorating Contest will still take place with judging on December 14 through 18, from 6:30 PM to 9:30 PM. Why not get in the holiday spirit and make what we can, safely around us, bigger and brighter?
This holiday season, more than ever, we all need to be considerate of the health and safety of others. Especially Santa and Mrs. Claus!
