The annual Wounded Veterans Relief Fund (WVRF) Golf Outing and Fundraiser will take place on April 28, 2018 at the 18-hole championship Hammock Bay Golf & Country Club.

The fundraiser will benefit wounded veterans in Florida. For the fifth year, Randall Denman, owner of Freedom Cigars and Lounge of Naples, will sponsor the event. Randall is grateful for the special friends who are helping with the fundraiser and for the support of the JW Marriott Group at the Hammock Bay Golf & Country Club.

Come tee off for a veteran and honor their sacrifices. These men and women are the real heroes. Marine Aaron Mankin is a good friend of Randall. While serving in Iraq, Aaron’s convoy was ambushed and he sustained lifechanging physical and mental injuries. Despite his injuries, Aaron maintains his sense of humor and optimism. He was the reason Randall started supporting the WVRF in Florida.

Randall Denman was Crew Chief on the F4-E fighter jet stationed at Moody AFB in Valdosta, Georgia. Though Randall was never in the combat field, he had many friends who were. Some of them came back home and others were not so lucky.

Randall is confident that his efforts, through the 2018 Golf Outing, will make a difference in a wounded Florida veteran’s life.

The WVRF provides temporary emergency financial assistance to eligible disabled veterans who have served in our wars and conflicts since 9/11. Many of them are Florida veterans who find themselves in crisis situation. (Visit www.wvrf.org for more information.)

Jim Lane of Marco Island, a Vietnam veteran, was awarded the Distinguished Silver Cross, Vietnam Cross of Gallantry and two Purple Hearts. Jim is calling all golfers to come and honor a wounded Florida veteran –and help make this golf outing and charity fundraiser a big success. Your participation will make a big difference.

New this year is the 50/50 Helicopter Ball Drop over the 18th fairway. The ball closest to the pin wins half of the gross funds collected from the Helicopter Ball Drop entries. Helicopter Ball Drop entry is $50 per entry and you do not need to be present to win. Post-tournament festivities will include awards, live auction, cigar roller, cash bar and food.
