Bedtime Bundles was the recipient of a check for $7,100.00 thanks to the generosity of Jane Krause and the lady golfers at Eagle Creek!
Jane Krause met Karen in 2007 when Karen first embarked on her speaking tour to promote Bedtime Bundles, a non- profit whose mission it is to identify the needs of migrant children and provide them with the basic necessities which is a “bundle”, an actual pillow case filled with soaps, shampoos, toothbrushes, tooth paste, underwear, socks, pajamas and other basic clothing needs for children.
Since that time Jane has followed up on the progression of Bedtime Bundles and decided to name Karen’s organization as the Recipient of the “Swing for A Cause” on March 3rd, 2011. Karen and Cheryl Muller were invited as honored guests at the continental breakfast to meet and greet all the golfers and wish them well. The ladies of Bedtime Bundles were treated to a beautifully decorated room. Themost heart-warming centerpiece was an ethnic looking “American Girl Doll” dressed authentically representing a migrant child asking for the help of golfers. In addition the golfer giveaways were “bundled” golf tees designed to look like a flower.
After the tournament the tears around the room began to flow. The President of the Eagle Creek golfers, Carol G. handed over the amazing sum of $7,100.00. Carol announced that she never could have imagined receiving such strong support. The donation received at the tournament will supply 284 migrant children with a bundle.
Karen Saeks was beyond words, other than a tearful thank you for a wonderful day and a generous donation. It is the hope to have the lady golfers of Eagle Creek continue their support of Bedtime Bundles. In the meantime, it’s back to the attic warehouse to bundle for what will be many happy children.
