Summer Camps Junior Golf

All About Golf

Summer time is here and soon the children will be out of school with many parents wondering what they will do to entertain their kids for the summer. I know this, being a parent myself, that you can only spend so much time at the beach or in the pool.

Golf is a game that can be played for life and is a great way of connecting with your children and grandchildren. More importantly, it’s a great game with many more things you can learn other than just golf. Golf teaches not only golf, but great values that youngsters will take into many more areas as they continue to grow into adults. There are many different summer camps out there for all sports and various other activities.

One of the best golf-related programs is the First Tee of Collier County. This is a nationwide program that my son attended last year and was great for him to learn golf and life skills.

The Mission Statement of the First Tee is: To impact the lives of young people by providing educational programs that build character, instill life-enhancing values and promote healthy choices through the game of golf.

They have many programs all over Collier County and the Island Country Club will be hosting a camp also this summer July 9th until July 13th. To sign up and for more information visit the First Tee of Collier County website www.thefirstteenaplescollier.org. This will give you more information on times and dates and other venues for the summer and after-school programs.

Please take advantage of this great program. Have a good summer and enjoy!
